If a garden design cannot be completed without patios being laid or walls being built, will Grass Roots Horticulture still get involved?
Yes. We have much experience with project management and the sub-contracting of certain projects that are not our forte, such as the building of summerhouses or other garden structures. We have worked in association with a small handful of building companies on previous occasions.
Will you come out to mow my lawn?
Yes, but only within the structure of a minimum of a half-day visit to your business premises or home, as opposed to mowing the lawn in isolation. However, we do work very closely with a lawn-care and garden services company, and we will be happy to pass on your details if mowing is all you require. Please email us with your details.
Can you be contracted on an annual or seasonal basis for business premises' maintenance?
Yes. A site visit and subsequent contract can be arranged by emailing your details and requirements to us at enquiries@grassrootshorticulture.co.uk
Are garden design consultations charged to the client?
Yes, but the visit to the home or business premises - charged at £30.00 and lasting approx. 2 hours and beyond - will be deducted from any further designs or work carried out. Undertaking a garden design project requires specialist knowledge of surveying, measuring and the incorporation of clients' wish lists. This standard practice by companies to charge insures against a total loss if the potential client decides against going ahead with the advice and/or proposed work. The garden designs themselves have no set charges due to every garden's individual character combined with clients' preferences.
Site visits for minor work, however, will not be charged, whether or not the potential client decides to allow us to go ahead with the work. This is due to the limited time element on site negating any incurred costs.
Where are you based and in which areas do you work?
Until very recently Grass Roots Horticulture was based in Avoncliff, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, but we have now moved to Hilperton Marsh, Trowbridge, Wiltshire. Most of our work still originates in and around Bath -in Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath And North East Somerset (BANES) - such as Bradford on Avon, Frome, Melksham, Corsham, Warminster, Westbury, Chippenham, Trowbridge, etc. However, Grass Roots Horticulture often undertakes larger contracts outside of Wiltshire, Somerset and BANES, such as the current restoration of the grounds of a Georgian townhouse in Montpellier, Cheltenham (autumn/winter 2011).
